   Start at https://www.topazlabs.com/ and confirm the domain before entering account or payment information.

   Availability: Topaz offers desktop products including Topaz Photo, Topaz Video, and Topaz Gigapixel plus cloud services and integrations, with local and cloud processing depending on product, model, hardware, and license.

   A supported Windows or macOS system, adequate RAM, storage, GPU and VRAM for selected models, internet for activation and model downloads, and a license appropriate to personal, professional, cloud, or commercial use.

   Sign in with the account you intend to keep using, then review plan, data, notification, and permission settings.

   Run one low-risk test task before connecting sensitive files, repositories, or workspace data.

   Preserve the untouched source and document its provenance, intended delivery, defects, resolution, frame rate, color, rights, and authenticity constraints.

   Confirm hardware and license requirements, then choose local processing for sensitive media unless a reviewed cloud model is necessary.

   Test a representative crop or short clip across a small model set at conservative settings rather than processing the entire asset immediately.

   Compare at native size and normal playback for invented detail, identity change, halos, texture, temporal artifacts, color, audio sync, and export fidelity.

• State the outcome before the background.
• Provide the real source material.
• Review the result before expanding the task.

   Restate the brief, the deliverable format, and where the asset will appear before judging any output.

   Inspect at full resolution: generated media hides its errors at thumbnail size.

   Check the details these systems reliably get wrong — hands, text, logos, reflections, symmetry, and edge artefacts.

   Confirm the licence and commercial-use terms for your plan, and check the output does not reproduce a recognisable style, mark, or likeness you have no right to use.

   Review for accessibility and delivery: alt text, contrast, colour profile, file size, and the exact export format.

• Inspect at full resolution before approving anything.
• Confirm commercial-use rights before an asset reaches a client.
• Keep the prompt and settings with the asset so it can be reproduced.

   Confirm you hold the rights to every reference image, voice, or clip before uploading it.

   Check whether your plan trains on submitted content, and opt out before uploading client work.

   Never upload a real person's likeness or voice without their explicit, documented consent.

   Review the output for marks, styles, or likenesses you have no licence to reproduce.

5. 05

   Label synthetic media where your client, platform, or jurisdiction requires disclosure.

• AI enhancement does not recover ground truth; it estimates detail and can alter faces, text, evidence, historical records, artistic texture, and motion. Some models or licenses require cloud processing or have commercial-use limits, and hardware requirements vary substantially. Preserve originals, document every model and setting, prefer local processing for sensitive assets, disclose material restoration, validate codecs and color, and never use an enhanced file as unquestioned forensic evidence.

• Never treat fluent output as authorization to act.
